Zombies and Spankings! (But No Spanking Zombies)

I made it all the way to the end! 26 posts in 30 days. A special thanks to Celeste Jones for posing the challenge, it was definitely challenging but fun. Check out Spanking Romance for everyone who participated in the Spanking from A-Z Blogging Challenge.

So today Z is for Zombies. The second book I put out, Cursed Waters, is near and dear to my heart. I actually started it a few years ago but was trying to make it a young adult book-- it didn't work.

There is a lot from my real life that I wrote into Cursed Waters, and it took me a long time to get it out, and have it make sense. Oh, and there's zombies in it. But not like a lot of zombies, or a lot of gore, they are sort of just an obstacle that my main character Roxy faces. And in a way they bring her back together with her ex-boyfriend, Trevor.

I think sometimes in life we need weird situations that push us together, and relationships either grow stronger because of them, or you end up seeing someone for who they really are.

A hurricane has struck Roxy's seaside hometown. Trevor is stranded at her apartment with her, and has warned her not to venture outside in the storm. But really, did we expect her to listen?

Roxy lifted her head up and realized she was definitely not alone. There were about half a dozen people milling around on the sidewalks. Slowly, milling around, as if they were out for a stroll, as if they weren't walking in a hurricane, almost as if they were zombies. She quickly shook herself, no, not that, there was no such thing. She dodged around the slow walker in front of her, running towards the parking lot. She needed to get to her car, get the book, and get back before Trevor realized she was gone.
Trying to keep her head up, so she could avoid running into anyone, the rain and wind whipped against her face and stung her eyes. She squinted, trying to clear her vision, then let out a yelp as her feet tangled in a fallen branch. Roxy saw the sidewalk advancing towards her and she placed her hands out in front to brace for her fall. Her palms and knees stung as the skin scraped away on the rough concrete of the sidewalk.
She felt hands on her waist, lifting her off the hard, wet sidewalk. She panicked and tried to remember what Seaweed had told her about fighting zombies. Failing to recall any zombie fighting techniques, Roxy turned and swung at her attacker, fists flying. Her wrists were caught before she ever landed one punch. Surprised, she looked up into Trevor's angry glare.
Are you nuts?” he yelled. Roxy barely heard him over the sounds of the whipping wind.
Her heart was pounding and she was too stunned to answer his question. She saw one of the slow walkers coming up behind Trevor and gestured for him to turn around. It was a man, his features drawn and gaunt, he looked past them as if not even seeing them blocking his way. Roxy pulled on Trevor's hands, which were still wrapped around her wrists, and the two of them ducked into a doorway of a storefront.
The slow moving man stumbled past them. Roxy and Trevor shot each other curious looks. Trevor stuck his head out of the alcove looking both ways up and down the sidewalk. He grabbed Roxy's elbow and jerked her back in the direction towards her apartment. She dug her heels in, pulling back, when Trevor spun around she gestured towards the flooded lot and her car. He shook his head and pulled her again. They got into a brief tug of war in the middle of the sidewalk. Roxy was pulling on Trevor with all her strength trying to get him to release her arms.

He pulled Roxy tight against him with one arm, slamming her into his muscular chest. He reached around with his other arm and placed a hard smack on her rain coat covered ass. Her eyes flew to his in surprise and her body stiffened. Trevor loosened his hold on her, but still gripping her elbow, he pulled her to follow behind him and this time she complied.
Thanks so much for stopping by for my last A-Z post! Check out some others while you're at it.

"You Better Hope I Do Not Find Out"-- Saturday Spankings

It's my second to last post for the Spanking from A-Z Blogging Challenge, and also my Saturday Spankings post.

Y is for "You better hope I do not find out." This is from my new release Loving Lena, it's a warning that Wesley gives Lena during her punishment. He is upset with her for not taking care of herself. She has neglected to eat and almost fainted in the park. Wesley whisks her home and is now taking her to task for being negligent with her health. (She's also been quite sassy and argumentative, figured I should clue you in on that, he isn't an ogre.)

"You can stand here and think about why you are being punished."
She turned her head to look at him, surprise etching her features.
"Think about how there will not be a next time. If your own carelessness causes you to feel faint again, you better hope I do not find out, because I will take the strap to you and ensure that you are not comfortable again for quite some time."
She blinked back at him then turned to face the wall.
She slid a hand behind her, cupping one of her swollen cheeks.
"You will keep your hands in front of you," he snapped.
She quickly removed her hand, placing both on the walls in front of her.

Lena Trimble should be experiencing the happiest time in her life. She is in love with the most wonderful man she has ever met, they have a beautiful baby together, and they are starting a new life in a new country. But Lena feels like she is living a lie. Their child was conceived out of wedlock and she is still embroiled in a divorce from a horrible man who never loved her but was only after her money.
Wesley Lawford feels like the luckiest man alive. He finally has Lena all to himself and he is trying to build a new life with her and their child. But as Lena's divorce drags on, her fears of what others think have her retreating from the world, and worse, closing herself off to him. Afraid of losing Lena as she continues secluding herself, Wesley knows he must be firm with his future wife and Lena soon finds herself over Wesley's knee for a hard bare-bottom spanking. Will a firm hand and loving domestic discipline bring back the woman he loves? Will simply loving Lena be enough to keep them together?
Loving Lena is the second in the Ravenswood Manor series. The book is a Victorian romance set during the beginning of America's Bicycle Craze, in 1890's Philadelphia. Although each book can be read alone, characters from the first book in the series, Emmaline's Groom, are referenced in Loving Lena.

X is for X-Men and Sexy Hugh Jackman

OMG we're up to X!! I had a few ideas for today I was thinking "X-Rated" or maybe even a treasure map post "X Marks the Spot" or totally cheating and naming my post "X-cited" or something.

But then I thought of Wolverine. Oh, that sexy, sexy Hugh Jackman.

I will confess I have seen only one X-Men movie and it was in college with an ex-boyfriend. I am pretty sure I only got talked into it because of Hugh Jackman.

And let's face it-- he's totally a spanker in real life, right? I think yes.

Look he's inspecting his spanking hand...

That's all I got today folks. Go forth and fantasize about spanking super heroes. You're welcome!

W is for Woo Hoo Westerns!

I'm already up to W, the end is near! I've been having a blast with the Spanking from A-Z Blogging Challenge, I hope you had as much fun reading.

Full disclosure, the title of this post is stolen from the subject line of the email Renee Rose sent me with her book info.

If you had told me 18 months ago that I would be getting personal emails from Renee Rose-- I would have told you that you were nuts! Sometimes I still get a little fangirl star struck, and then she sends me an email with that as a subject and I am all like "Stars, they're just like us!"

Anyway, I reached out to Renee to see if she wanted to visit for my W post with an excerpt from her new Western because I just finished reading The Outlaw's Bride, and I loved it!!

I think I have a little crush on Mabelle. Yes, I know I should be crushing on her sexy outlaw man, Sam (who, trust me, you will swoon over), but Mabelle was so sassy I fell in love with her instantly. I also really appreciated that she did not lose her sass and in fact kept it right up until the very end.

This excerpt actually happens later on in the book, and I think it shows Mabelle at her sassy/sweet best!

“Who makes the decisions?”
“You do.”
“You has the final say?”
“You do.”
“Did I have your best interest at heart today?”
“Yes, sir.”
“What should I do now?”
She could not believe he wanted her to say it. She drew her brows together and scowled. Putting her hands on her hips, she suggested, “Kiss me?”
She felt fortunate when he laughed, because she knew she pushed her luck.
“I will be doing that, too. After our reckoning.”
She shivered.
He unbuttoned his jacket and removed it, tossing it on the chair with her clothing. The vest followed, and he rolled up his sleeves. Unfastening his belt, he slid the gun holsters off and wound the buckle end around his fist until a length just over a foot remained.
She watched, her heart beating erratically, her mouth dry.
“Lie over the pillows so your bottom is lifted in the air.”

The Outlaw’s Bride by Renee Rose
Mabelle Lawson had been managing her dead sister’s ranch without help for three months. The last thing she needs is a band of outlaws showing up and pushing her around. The Curly James gang members have no patience for her sass, and when their leader attempts to strike her with his fist, one of his men volunteers to spank her instead. She wants to hate the good-looking outlaw, but he seems to have her well-being at heart, even risking his life to protect her from the other men.
Unjustly accused of murder, Sam Pride is on the run and his luck worsens when he tangles with the Curly James gang. The only bright spot is the little spitfire rancher who steals his heart with her courage and spunk. When the two set off together for Cheyenne and then Denver, sparks fly and their magnetic connection grows.
Still, Mabelle is not sure if Sam will commit and even if he does, can he clear his name before a bounty hunter shoots him or brings him in?

Verbal Warnings- Lectured and Spanked, Dungeon Crawl

I like a good verbal chastisement, a verbal warning, a lecture. It gets me going. It can all be a part of the spanking process.

Today V is for Verbal-- be it a verbal chastisement or a verbal warning that you are pushing too far. Either or both may precede a spanking.

In this scene Wesley is taking Lena to task for not taking care of herself. She gets a little lecture before she gets her punishment.

"I missed breakfast, Wesley, I did not drink poison. You make it sound like I was trying to do something to harm myself."

"No, that is precisely it. I know it was not on purpose. But how many times this week did you forget to eat?"

Her face flushed and she shook her head.

"Here is the answer, once is one time too many. I know for a fact that it was at least four times, and that was on the days I asked you."

"I will try harder."

"Yes, you will try harder. Because your welfare is not something I will bend on." He crossed the room to stand in front of her and took her face in his hands. "What would I do if something happened to you?"

Her eyes glimmered with unshed tears. "I do not mean to worry you."

"I will always worry, I will always care." He rubbed his thumb over the smooth skin of her cheek and she closed her eyes and leaned into his hand.

"Please, do not be angry," she whispered.

"I am not angry. I am upset."

She opened her eyes and looked back at him. "Are you going to spank me?"

"Yes."

"For feeling faint in the park? That does not seem fair." Lena was closer to whining than he had ever heard before.

"You will remember to eat and take proper care of yourself. I would hope this would be the last time we must have this conversation. Otherwise you will not be comfortable riding your bicycle very often."

"But, I already said I am sorry and I will try harder. What more can I do?"

Wesley crossed to the desk and pulled out the chair, bringing it far enough from any furniture she could kick. He sat down and beckoned her forward.

She took tentative steps, taking her time crossing the room to get to him.

Once she stood in front of him she held out the spoon she had hidden behind her back. She offered it up but would not meet his eyes.

He took it from her and placed it on the floor beside him. He put his hands on her hips and turned her so he could reach the buttons at the back of her dress.

U is for Underwear- Sexy Underthings

It's the Spanking for A-Z Blogging Challenge. What is U for?

Underwear of course!

I refer to them as panties (they're cuter that way). Lingerie, knickers, underpants-- whatever you want to call them, they can get quite sexy!

They might encase a spankable butt...

They can serve to tease and entice...

You can dress them up with other accessories...

Or wear them with nothing else at all.

Note: all of these pictures were pilfered from pinterest. I have no idea where they came from before that.

Check out some other Spanking from A-Z Blog Hoppers. And then maybe go buy some sexy underwear ;)

Teasing and Threats

We are getting so close to the end in the Spanking from A-Z Blogging Challenge!

T is for Teasing and Threats

In books, just like in real life, there is a lot of parts to a spanking. It's not just the actual act of the spanking. Yeah, you have to figure out logistics (otk, standing, over the desk), implement, length, and intensity.

I read spanking romance for the spankings. But it is not just about the spankings.

Are you confused yet?

I like the lead up. A threat, some teasing, a promise that a spanking is to come.

Yes, I also like a lot of spankings, but if there is no build up, then it feels like it's over before you even got started. It's like sex with no foreplay.

It was like before I found spanking romances and I was reading books with strong alpha males. They would always hint around like they were going to do something to take the heroine in hand. My heart would flutter, my pulse would quicken, had I finally found a book that would go there?

I would tear through the pages, reading faster and faster, trying to get to the part where he made good on his threat.

Most of the time they would just tumble into bed together, make some sweet love, and she was putty in his hands. Okay, I guess that is one resolution. It was never what I had in mind. So I was always adding the spankings in my head.

Now that we have a whole genre of spanking romance-- I am never left hanging. But sometimes a story can almost feel just as incomplete if there isn't any lead up.

I need a heated look.

A stern gaze.

"Wait until we get home."

A pat on the butt.

Seriously, just a few words will have me panting and reading on!

It's similar to wandering through the housewares section with my husband. i think he plays a game called "How Embarrassed Can I Make You?"

A display of wooden spoons? He selects one and holds it out to me, raising his eyebrows suggestively. I flush with heat as the aisle is crowded and what if other shoppers pick up on his cues?

A bamboo cutting board shaped like a paddle? He'll point it out to me, "Do you think you need that? We could probably find some use for it."

It's like foreplay in the kitchen gadget aisle. It will have me ready to go all day.

And that's what I like in my books too.

Know any good teasing heroes? Let me know so I can add them to my reading list!

A Switching-- The Price of Disobedience

It's the Spanking for A-Z Blogging Challenge. I am also visiting Natasha Knight today talking about researching for writing a book in the Victorian Era, a double dose of me today!

S could be for so many things. Spankings, S is always for Spankings!

Today, specifically, it is about Switching.

When I was writing Loving Lena I was trying to think of something I had not written about before that a man in the 1890's might use to punish his woman. I had used a razor strap and a hairbrush already. Of course a hand is always useful and quite intimate, and earlier in the book Lena feels the burn of a wooden spoon.

It's a big punishment scene, a turning point in the story, so I wanted something that seemed more severe than just Wesley's hand. Something that might leave a lasting impression on our stubborn heroine.

This scene comes towards the end of the book. Lena has gotten herself into a bit of trouble with Emmaline and Wesley is at his wit's end between her impulsive behavior and her seemingly unrepentant attitude.

He not only decides to use a switch on her, but leaves her bare and lying over the desk in his study while he goes to cut it. Lena is having a hard time submitting to this humiliating punishment, and this is where we find them:

She rose from her bent position, letting her dress fall back down over her buttocks. She stood for a moment with her knees up against the desk, her head raised, and listening.

She was about to turn and make her way out of the study when she heard the front door open and close again. She threw herself back over the front of the desk, but her skirts remained down where they had fallen.

Wesley's heavy footsteps came back into the room. Lena had her head buried in the crook of her arm; she squeezed her eyes shut.

She started when a firm grasp wrapped around her upper arm and pulled her upright.

"I told you to stay in position."

Lena let her mouth flap open, but she could not find words to respond. She looked from Wesley's angry face to the sticks he held in his hand. Switches!

He must have seen her eying them because he said, "Yes, I went outside to cut some switches to deal with this matter."

She looked back up at him. Was she just a matter for him to deal with?

"Why did you get out of position?" He gave her a quick shake as he asked.

"I did not know where you went," she answered.

"Did you think it was a good idea to disobey me again so soon?" He wore a mask of calmness, but she could hear the annoyance lacing his voice.

"I did not go anywhere, I just stood up. You left the door open." She tried to explain, surely he would know she would be embarrassed if anyone in the house had happened by. He needed to be reasonable.

"Yes, I left the door open, and I left you on display. I will spank you in front of everyone if that is my wish. Maybe I shall wait and spank you in front of Ms. Shaw tomorrow so she can see how you are atoning for your sins."

She gasped at his threat tried not to tremble. She had never seen Wesley so mad, at least not with her anyway. She knew she had acted poorly, he was right that she should not have reacted and lashed out at Annie without getting the whole story.

"Raise your skirts and bend over the desk," he directed, as he released her arm and took a step back.

She blinked back the tears already forming in her eyes. She had never been switched, but she assumed it would not be pleasant. Although, those twigs seemed very little, perhaps they did not hurt much at all. Maybe it was more to scare her than to bring her any discomfort.

She turned to face the desk again and lifted her skirts as she bent forward.

Wesley rounded the desk and sat down behind it. He leaned back in the chair and took out his knife to strip the switches of their remaining leaves. The sticks were about an arm's length long and very thin.

She looked up at him, with her being stretched across the desk, her face was so close to him she could smell his scent. That musky smell that was so uniquely him, that clung to his pillow long after he left their bed. It normally reassured her, but now, as he sat in front of her stripping switches to thrash her bottom with, she did not feel reassured.

He had left the door open again, and she thought about asking him to close it. But he never looked up at her, he sat right in front of her, running his knife down the switches acting like she was not even in the room. Her face felt hot with embarrassment. She would never be able to look any of their staff in the eye again if they saw her in such a compromising position.

"I think three should do it, yes?" Wesley asked, looking up at her finally.

She could only look back at him. She felt like he was not really asking her to answer.

R is for Roller Derby

R is for Roller Derby. At least for me it is.

I had another anniversary this week and it was my 1 year mark of taking the plunge into this highly addictive sport.

I know I mention it sometimes on my blog. I also know that not a lot of people understand what the heck is going on in a roller derby bout, so today I thought I would give you a crash course.

First of all, a game of roller derby is called a bout. If you refer to it as a game or a match, people will know what you're talking about, but the technical term is bout.

The object of the sport is for the Jammer to pass members of the opposing team on the track to score points. The Jammer wears a star on her helmet:

Each team has four blockers on the track. They want to stop the other team's Jammer from scoring points, while also trying to help their Jammer get through.

The blockers from the opposing teams make up what is referred to as the pack.

Jammers want to get through the pack to score points, blockers want to stop Jammers from getting through the pack. Simple, right?

Not really, there is a whole lot of strategy to this game that I am still trying to catch up on. Most of the time I will just look for a more experienced girl on my team and do what she's doing.

I understand the object of the game and I get it when I am watching it, but something happens when you are out on that track. Everything is faster, quicker, and harder.

I wish I looked this hot.
I've spent the last year trying to keep pace and stay on my feet. I mentioned this at practice this week- that my only goal every night is to not fall down. A few girls laughed, but I wasn't kidding. I make it my main goal to not fall down. Easier said than done, but I can see improvements in myself.
Overall it's good exercise and a lot of fun. If you have a roller derby league in your area, I encourage you to go see a bout. It's a great sport to watch and the fans tend to be just as fun as the players.

You can also look up bouts online, there are tons of roller derby videos. But I prefer my sports live and in person.

How could I resist?

Question- What Happens When You Talk About Anal Sex?

Welcome back to the Blogging From A-Z Challenge.

Today Q is for Question.

My question is: What happens when you talk about anal sex?

Answer: an uncomfortable silence.

Okay, I posted this a while back, it actually happened to me because sometimes I get a little chatty.

If you already read it, you may move on, or re-read if you like.

There is often balance in relationships where one of you might be an oversharer while the other one would take all your secrets to the grave. The universe needs the balance, I think it might be the law of opposites attracting. This post, about a fateful girl's night out, might clue you in on which part of the oversharer/secret keeper dynamic I fall into.

Our night ends around 4am, with five of us at an all-night pizza place outside on the boardwalk. We were quite the hot mess. The bride was sober and miserable. Her cousin was drunk and sobbing. My one friend was yelling at the people behind the counter for not selling soft pretzels. And me and one other girl, whom I had just met that night, were inhaling pizza slices bigger than our heads. We were a picture of runny mascara and sweaty club clothes. I was also carrying my high heels tucked up under my arms so I could keep my hands free to eat my pizza (I must have been inebriated, because voluntarily going barefoot on that boardwalk? Ick!).

We started talking about sex (because what else do you talk about at a pizza place at 4am?). I decide this is the best time to confess how much I love anal sex. I launch into a description about how much more intense my orgasms are this way and how I almost prefer this to vaginal penetration, when I glance up from my greasy, pepperoni slice to find four perplexed looks of shock. The uncomfortable silence descends and I immediately stop talking. My friend (the soft pretzel demander) starts laughing manically, she can't stop laughing long enough to get words out and just keeps shaking her head over and over. She finally manages to get out “It's so awful!” between gasps for air.

Now I am embarrassed and defensive. I follow up with “Have you tried it?”
“Yes! And never again!” Now I am peppering her with questions (which she is not answering, obviously not an oversharer like myself). And I start giving suggestions on “proper preparations.” (I still have not heard the last of that line, it gets brought up at many parties).

Our night came to a close soon after this, we trudged back to our rooms and I woke up in the morning slightly hungover and even more embarrassed.

I shoot a quick text off to my husband

Had a great time last night... may have told everyone I like anal.

I hold my breath for his reply. If the tables were turned I would be totally pissed.

Really??

Ok, I cannot judge tone of voice in a text, is he mad?

Um, yeah, I feel like an idiot.

Almost immediate reply-

LOL. So when I get a few pats on the back this weekend from the guys I'll know why?

My relief is immediate, at least my husband isn't mad.

I endure a late breakfast with the rest of the girls, trying my best to act like I am totally cool with the information I shared the night before. Only getting a little red in the face when I am good- naturedly jabbed with comments.

Needless to say I think I will be forever labeled the kinky friend.

And once again I need to thank my husband for restoring the balance in our relationship, at least on his side some of our dirty little secrets might actually remain secret.

Have you ever divulged a kinky secret? What was the reaction of the person you told it to?

I encourage you to visit some other A-Z Blogs, there are a lot to choose from!
