Guest Post: Cara Bristol's Educating His Bride

I have Cara Bristol visiting today with a scene from her new book Educating His Bride. It's a spanking romance set in the 1950's and it was a delight to read!

In this scene, college student Margaret has received a bad grade on her English paper. But a bad grade isn’t all she’s going to get.

Dejected, she slid into a vacant desk, still warm from another student’s derriere. She thumbed through her essay. Cliché. More analysis needed. What about…. Red-inked comments in a masculine scrawl spilled across every single one of the eight pages she’d typed so beautifully. Didn’t typing count for anything?
Her heart sank to the soles of her rounded-toe baby-doll pumps. She’d waited until the night before the due date to write the paper, but she deserved better than a D! And she intended to tell Professor Thurston so.
After the last student left, he gestured to the door. “Shall we go?”
She preceded him into the hall.
“Do you have a class now?” he asked.
“No. My next period is free.”
“Good. We have time to talk.”
They exited Delmar Hall, named for an alumnus patron, and strolled down the walkway over rolling grassy hills dotted with stately oaks and flowering shrubs. A few stubborn blossoms clung to dogwood trees outside the library. Over a knoll, she spotted the Whitmore Building.
Some students glanced their way, a few who knew the professor greeted him, but mostly people ignored them. Margaret clutched her notebook to her chest. “You grade me harder than you do everyone else.”
“Please hold the discussion until we’re in my office.”
They entered Whitmore and climbed the stairs to the second floor. She waited while he checked with the secretary for messages then they proceeded to his office around the corridor. Two black nameplates lettered in white read, Asst. Professor Thurston and Asst. Professor Abernathy. He unlocked the door and motioned for her to enter.
The small office contained two battered wooden desks, the left one buried under a hazardous mountain of paper and academic debris, the one on the right neat as a pin. A tall shelving unit, shared by both professors, sagged under the weight of well-used literature and reference volumes. A wall clock ticked.
“Have a seat.” The professor shut the door and assumed his place behind the neat desk.
She perched on the edge of a straight-back chair, ankles together, and adjusted her skirt over her knees.
The man she loved steepled his fingers. “Now, tell me why you believe I grade you harder than anybody else.”
She wet her lips. “Because you do.”
“My standards are no more exacting for you than they are for any other student. I expect excellence from each of you.”
“I’m sorry. I’ll try harder.”
He flipped open a record book and ran his finger down a list. “As it stands now, your grade is a shaky C minus. If you don’t do well on the final next week, you run the risk of getting a D in the course.” He snapped the grade book closed. “We had a discussion after your last paper, did we not?”
“Yes.”
“I believe I warned you what the consequences would be if you failed to get at least a B.” He opened his middle desk drawer.
Yes, they’d talked about—but he couldn’t be serious.
He withdrew a thick, heavy eighteen-inch measuring stick. “Lock the office door, please.”

Renee Rose's Smexy New Stepbrother Romance!!!

I have Renee Rose visiting today! Her new book Stepbrother's Rules is available in the box set Correcting the Coeds. I already got to read this story and let me tell you, it is hot! Brad is a yummy stepbrother and he's so sweet with LuAnn.

I love the idea of spanking romances set in the 1950's. I can't wait to read the rest of these stories. But for now, here is Renee with an excerpt!

Hi Casey,

Thanks so much for hosting the Pink Ladies today with our 1950’s college spank-set.  I’m giving you one of my smexiest scenes here. Warning:  it involves baby oil.

I feel like the nature-mama in me has to make a total disclaimer.  While yes, my husband has purchased and used baby oil on me, I am officially not a fan of petroleum-based oils on body parts, and would far prefer something edible like coconut oil.  I only used baby oil for this story because I figured they didn’t know about not using petroleum based products on body parts back in 1957.  Okay, that aside, let’s move onto the smutty stuff…

LuAnn couldn’t breathe. She didn’t know what kind of game Brad was playing with her, but she didn’t want it ever to end. Her entire body vibrated with desire.

Why would he undress her, shave her, and take her to his bed, but not have sex with her? She couldn’t understand it. He had picked up a bottle of something from his nightstand and squirted some kind of liquid in his hand.

“Lie back, mouse,” he said, his voice sounding deeper than normal. His eyes had darkened, appearing midnight blue now instead of their usual ocean.

She eased back onto her elbows, watching his movements.

“This is baby oil.” He tipped the bottle and dribbled some on her tummy. Her muscles jerked and quivered at the sensation.

Brad grasped her wrists, pulling her forearms away from covering her breasts and pinning them over her head. With his other hand, he began to massage the oil into her skin, his hand hot against her flesh, searing her with his caresses.

She bit her lips to keep from moaning, closing her eyes. Her entire body trembled, and not just from nerves. Something in her inner core clenched and released.

He coated her breasts with the oil, circling around her nipples and squeezing them into stiff peaks. Stroking down her side, he rubbed around her flank, his fingertips sliding underneath her to cup her bottom.

She sighed, waves of pleasure cascading through her.

He dragged his hand down her thigh, rounded over her knee, then slid up between her legs.

She inhaled sharply, squeezing her thighs together.

He made a tsking sound. “Open for Daddy, mouse. I want to make you feel good tonight.”

For some reason, tears pricked her eyes. Not because she didn’t want him to touch her, but just from the sheer intensity of her emotions—embarrassment and desire tangled up in the shock of her first intimacy with a man.

“Are you scared, mouse?”

She shook her head.

“I won’t hurt you, I promise. You can trust me.”

She did trust him and if she was afraid, it was only of falling madly in love with a man she was pretty sure she couldn’t have. But that was no reason to deny this moment. She relaxed her gripping muscles, allowing him to slide higher, closer and closer to her pulsing sex.

The moment he touched her there, a jolt of electricity ran through her and her bottom popped off the bed.

“Shh.” He stroked a finger along her honeyed slit.

Correcting the Coeds
The 1950s…when men were men, and women were spanked. Featuring four brand new novellas:

A Husband for Betty by Sue Lyndon
When Betty is sent to her college advisor on a disciplinary matter, she doesn’t expect Dr. David Bauer to scold her, make her stand in the corner, and propose marriage all within the hour. Yet that’s exactly what happens, and out of desperation to escape her family’s influence, the young coed finds herself saying yes to the handsome widower.

David is a strict man who has no compunction about baring his wife’s bottom for a sound spanking, but he’s also patient and caring. Betty feels blessed to be his wife, but she worries he views their union as nothing more than a marriage of convenience. Will he ever truly love her, and how will he react to the shameful secret she’s been keeping about her past?

Back to Her Future by Celeste Jones
To keep peace with her roommate, Astrid agrees to try her time travel app, never imagining that this would be the one time Margo invented something that worked. In an instant, Astrid is transported to 1956 and the dorm room of Richard "Dick" Johnson—Eagle Scout, straight arrow, spanker.

Dick Johnson has never met a girl like Astrid. Just because she says she's an exchange student from Canada doesn't mean she can flaunt the rules of proper ladylike behavior and he intends to help her understand American ways, even if the lessons are taught across his lap. Astrid is charmed, and turned on, by Richard's old-fashioned ways, but she knows he'll never understand if she tells him the truth. When the time comes for Astrid to return to 2016, will she be able to go Back To Her Future?

This book contains spanking, hip 50s slang, and some mocking of Canada. If such things offend you, please do not buy this book, eh?

Educating His Bride by Cara Bristol
Never much interested in her studies, Margaret Atwater attends college hoping to graduate with an Mrs. degree instead of a bachelor’s. When she catches the eye of English Professor Henry Thurston, she’s thrilled to marry him, drop out of school, and begin a new life as a married woman and faculty wife. However, Henry is a kinky man who has much to teach his eager young bride—in, and out, of the bedroom. As Mrs. Henry Thurston, Margaret’s education has just begun.

Stepbrother’s Rules
LuAnn’s had a crush on her older, rebellious stepbrother since the year he lived with them—his last year of high school. Now, four weeks before graduating from Sarah Wharton Women’s College, she’s been kicked out for having boys in her dormitory, and he’s the one who shows up to collect her. With her parents away in Europe, he brings her to his place, because leaving a young woman unchaperoned isn’t done in 1957.

Brad makes it clear she is not to emulate the wild behavior of his youth, and he starts things out with a long, bare-bottomed punishment. Soon, though, he discovers his stepsister is all grown up, and having her under his authority makes her a temptation too delicious to resist. Before long, he’s strayed way past what is acceptable, turning her into his little girl and bringing her to the peaks of pleasure during her numerous punishments.

"I Spank with My Right." A Reminder from the Duke~ Jaye Peaches is Here!!

I have Jaye over today and she's talking about her new Regency that just released. You know I have a soft spot for historical romances. I'm delighted to have her over today and she also brought us an excerpt!

Hello Casey.  Thank you for hosting me today. I’ve brought along Sophia, from my latest book, Sophia and the Duke, which is about a widowed duchess who is very proud of her upbringing. Unfortunately, she’s rather disappointed that the new duke, who had lived for several years as a fur trapper in Canada, had refused to dance at a ball. He’s a little rusty and she’s been helping him. She must behave and not be rude to him, as it will cost her a penalty, as he likes to remind her.

She watched Nathanial try out each of the moves and was surprised to see he was lighter on his feet than she imagined. Not a heavy man, but tall and muscular, he had the ability to hold his body in line, unlike some men who swayed from side to side when they hopped.

They faced each other across the vast ballroom of Attingham. The wooden boards shone with polish, gigantic portraits and gilt mirrors hung from the walls, while above their heads the painted ceiling portrayed a lost time of myths and legends, which involved a large number of naked people. Sophia averted her eyes and kept them on the rather splendid figure of Nathanial.

He wore shoes, dusty coloured breeches, and a shirt. She’d given up on expecting him to wear jackets indoors or cravats, and even footwear. When they were alone, his outer clothing disassembled with speed and she often find items lying about the various rooms, discarded and forgotten.

“Let’s refresh your memory of the chasse step. It’s a travelling movement.”

He pursed his lips and shrugged. “I vaguely remember it.”

She clapped her hands together, chiming a beat for them to follow. “Like this: left foot forwards, take the weight, right foot follows with a light skip and it never takes the lead, always the left foot…” She halted halfway across the floor. A smirking Nathanial hadn’t moved. “What?” she snapped, planting her hands on her hips. “Was I not clear?”

“You led with your right, not your left.” He pointed at her feet.

“No, I did not.” She glared back and returned to her starting point. “See, I extend my left foot…What!” she shrilled, as Nathanial doubled up with laughter.

He came back up, grinning from ear to ear. “That, my dear, is your right foot. How can you have possibly have learnt to dance without knowing your left from right?”

“I… I copied what the others did. I’ve not had to instruct another before now.” She held out her hand. “This is my right hand, yes?”

Nathanial walked around her and approached from behind. He slid his palm down her arm, caressing the bared skin of her forearm, sending ripples of shivers down her spine, until he captured her outstretched wrist. “Let me help you remember. This is the hand I spanked your bottom with—my right hand.”

She gasped, mortified. “Nathanial, don’t, please. You’re embarrassing me,” she whispered. They were alone, but servants always lurked nearby, ready to spring into action if summoned.

“There is no need to feel embarrassed. I’m sure the memory of that evening will help you recall I spank with my right. So this,” he waved her arm up and down, “is your right side, including your foot.” He swung the arm out to the side and then swooped it back, mimicking the way he’d spanked her.

“This is not helping. You’re distracting me. You wanted to learn to dance, why after all these weeks you want to know now—”

He pressed into her back and kissed her neck, tickling her at first, then making his attentions firmer and using the full form of his mouth. Sophia sighed, unable to finish her sentence. She felt it, the hardness in his breeches and the stiff rod poked her bottom through her dress. She couldn’t resist leaning back into his arms, allowing him to gather her closer. “Oh, gracious,” she murmured, panting, aware of her sex and its ache for fulfilment.

Blurb

After the passing of her husband, the elderly Duke of Brockenhurst, twenty-two-year-old Sophia chafes at her family’s expectations during her lengthy mourning period. When she is free to re-emerge in society at last, at her grandmother’s insistence she entertains the courtship of Nathaniel Hartwell, a distant cousin of the old duke and the man next in line for the title.

To her shock, Sophia learns that Nathaniel has spent the last eight years living as a trapper and fur trader in the mountains of Canada, isolating himself from the world after the tragic death of the woman he loved. Though he is a rough, uncivilised man, his devilishly handsome looks and commanding presence excite her in a way nothing ever has before.

Sophia sets out to transform the new duke into someone suitable for polite society, but when her comments become disrespectful and mocking Nathaniel takes issue with her behaviour. Almost before she knows it, she is over his lap and her aristocratic bottom has been bared for a sound spanking.

Knowing that it is the right choice for all concerned, Nathaniel asks her to be his wife, but despite the fact that their marriage begins as one of convenience he is determined to show Sophia the intense pleasure a strong man’s dominant lovemaking can bring her. Though her spoiled attitude occasionally earns her a bright red, well-spanked bottom, as the weeks pass her desire for him grows ever stronger. But can love truly bridge the gulf between people from such different worlds?

Publisher’s Note: Sophia and the Duke is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Ashe Barker Interviews and Shares!

I have Ashe Barker taking over today. She brought along a special guest and a little excerpt from her new book!

Hi Casey, and thank you for inviting me over today to share a little from my latest release, A Scandalous Arrangement. It’s great to be back.

I thought it might be a nice opportunity to get to know Victoria Wynne a little better. Victoria is my heroine from the story, and I tracked her down in her office to I fire some finely honed questions at her. Here’s what she had to say…

Me: Thank you for chatting to me today, Miss Wynne. Tell me, what impression do you make on people when they first meet you?

Victoria: I believe I may be quite intimidating to business associates, and that is intentional. Many men fail to take a woman in business seriously. I set out to prove them wrong. With my family and close friends it’s different though. Or, I hope it is.

Me: What impression did you make on Adam?

Victoria: I suppose he must have liked me, and he was willing to enter into a business arrangement with me so that proves he respected me. I think.

Me: Your arrangement was anything but business-like though, was it not?

Victoria: As it turned out, yes. Though I do not regret anything I did. Nor does Adam, I’m sure.

Me: What are you most proud of in your life?

Victoria: My mill, I suppose. I worked hard to build the business, and even harder to keep it. I employ people, they depend on me and I work hard not to let them down.

Me: What about on a personal level?

Victoria: My family, without doubt. But also, my little school I suppose. It offers a chance to children from working class families, especially the girls. I offer them the chance of a good education, and decent employment.

Me: Is that important to you?

Victoria: Yes, very.

Me: What does Adam think of your philanthropic tendencies?

Victoria: I believe he approves. He is a stern man, but kind, and generous too. I would not love him otherwise.

Neither would we. Enough from Victoria, for now. Here’s the blurb from A Scandalous Arrangement.

After a foolish wager costs her brother ownership of the weaving mill in Yorkshire which provides her income, Victoria Wynne is left with no choice but to confront the man who took the bet and seek to dissuade him from claiming his prize. Unfortunately for her, that man turns out to be Adam Luke, an experienced, ambitious entrepreneur who is intent on keeping what he won.

Upon meeting her, Adam is enchanted by Victoria’s beauty and charm as well as her nerve and self-reliance. Adam is a man of singular tastes, and when Victoria asks to manage the mill in return for a share of the profits, he offers her a bold proposal of his own. She will continue to run the mill as she has for years, but in return for a substantially larger portion of the profits she will also serve at his beck and call behind closed doors, submitting to him in any way he desires.

Wanting to earn enough money to buy back the mill as quickly as possible—and with some part of her shamefully aroused by the thought of kneeling naked at Adam’s feet—Victoria accepts his terms. But submission initially proves difficult for a woman used to running her own affairs, and soon enough she finds herself bare-bottomed over his knee for a firm lesson in obedience.

Adam’s plans for Victoria run much deeper than just an occasional spanking. She will be stripped naked, bound, and teased until she is aching for release, and then at last he will take her long and hard. As Adam continues to train her, teaching her to yield to his mastery while bringing her more pleasure than she ever thought possible, Victoria cannot help falling for him. But can a lifelong bond truly emerge from such a scandalous arrangement?

Publisher’s Note: A Scandalous Arrangement is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

And now, an excerpt from A Scandalous Arrangement.

Dinner that evening was a pleasant enough affair, if he could manage to disregard the silence emanating from Victoria. She was not surly exactly, more preoccupied. He had given her plenty to consider, certainly, but he did not believe it was his unorthodox business proposition which occupied her thoughts. Or, perhaps not entirely.
Hester Wynne and her younger daughter, Georgina, did a fine job of filling any gaps in the conversation. He was entertained by tales of local life, the social events dominating the West Yorkshire summer season, the weather at this time of year, the difficulties inherent in securing beef of adequate quality. The latter was not a problem he felt their cook encountered on a regular basis if the fine braised steak he was enjoying was any indication. The food was exquisite, and the company effervescent.
As soon as dessert was over Victoria excused herself.
"But, my dear, we have a guest. Surely you can remain with us a little longer." Hester fixed her daughter with what seemed to Adam a particularly pointed look, but to no avail.
Victoria smiled at the assembled company as she folded her napkin. "I am tired, mama. I will see you at breakfast." She bent to kiss her mother's cheek, then Georgina's. She bestowed a cool smile on Adam as she left the room.
Hester shook her head. "She may be tired, but she'll still spend the next three hours in the library, poring over her accounts, checking invoices, studying her order books. She really does too much, Mr Luke. I worry about her."
Adam smiled and nodded. He could find nothing in Hester's statement with which to disagree.
Thirty minutes and a fine port later the remaining three left the table. Hester declared herself ready to retire to her room, and urged Georgina to do the same in readiness for some charitable function the following day. They both bid him goodnight.
Adam waited until their footsteps faded on the upper floor, then he made his way along the ground floor hallway. He could eliminate the parlour and the dining room, so located the library without difficulty. The door was ajar. As he had expected, Victoria was there, her back to the door as she bent over a large desk which was scattered with papers. The faint scratching of her pen across the surface of the document she worked on could be heard as he stood in silence for few moments, taking in the sight of her. She really was lovely. A trifle prim in her attitudes perhaps, and definitely sharp-tongued. Independent too, but he admired that and could deal with the rest.

More about me:

I’ve been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres. I still love reading, the hotter the better. But now I have a good excuse for my guilty pleasure – research.
I tend to draw on my own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to my plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea.
When not writing – which is not very often these days - my time is divided between my role as resident taxi driver for my teenage daughter, and caring for a menagerie of dogs, rabbits, tortoises.  And a very grumpy cockatiel.
I have twenty four (at the last count) titles on general release with publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, and I have several more in the pipeline. All my books feature BDSM. I write explicit stories, always hot, but they offer far more than just sizzling sex. I like to read about complex characters, and compelling plots, so that’s what I write too. Strong, demanding Doms are a given, often paired with new submissives who have a lot to learn.
I have a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keep thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from me.
I love to hear from readers. You can find me on my blog, and on the Totally Bound site. I’m on Facebook, and twitter and now on Tsu as well. I’m on Pinterest too, and Goodreads

A to Z Challenge~ Ullswater and Some Sexy Highlanders

On to U of the Spanking from A-Z blog challenge, hosted by Celeste Jones and Spanking Romance Reviews.

I am so excited to have Ashe Barker over today! You know I like writing smut and I like reading smut, but I don't like feeling like I am killing brain cells in the process. Ashe Barker has this way of writing really interesting stories that are also hot and steamy, and I feel like I always learn something.

Today is no different! She's educating me a bit on geography before we get all googly eyed and tongue-tied over her big hulking heroes. So I will shut up and throw it over to Ashe:

Hi Casey, and thank you so much for inviting me over to your blog to join in your A-Z Challenge on U day. So, we have U for Ullswater, the setting for much of the action in my latest release, Shared by the Highlanders.
Ullswater is a lake in England’s Lake District. These days it is a hiker’s paradise, and tourists sail up and down the lake in steamers, enjoying the stunning scenery.
Shared by the Highlanders is largely set in the sixteenth century, but I expect the landscape was much the same then as now, minus the steam boats of course.
Here’s a picture, to help set the scene
Shared by the Highlanders was a dream to write, bringing together several of my favourite erotic romance themes - time travel, historical romance, and of course two seriously sexy highlanders. Here’s the blurb…

After she becomes lost in a thick mist while hiking near the borders of Scotland, Charlene Kelly is shocked to encounter two men on horseback. To her horror, the pair—both of whom are dressed in Scottish tartans—accost her and won’t let her go. Though the men speak with accents so strong they seem to come from another era, Charlene is able to gather that they believe she is a thieving boy. Unsure what else to do, Charlene plays along.

When Will Sinclair and Robbie MacBride discover that their captive is in fact a woman—and quite a beautiful one at that—there is only one thing to be done. She must be punished for her deception, and punished thoroughly. A switch applied to her bare bottom does the job well, and soon enough the two men are comforting Charlene as she nurses her bright red, sore backside.

Upon learning that the highlanders are hand-carrying an important message from Elizabeth of England to the court of Mary, Queen of Scots, it finally dawns on Charlene that she is no longer in her own time. Though she is desperate to find a way home, Will and Robbie are both unlike any man she has ever met, and their unabashed dominance awakens in her a powerful need to submit. Soon enough, she finds herself blushing with shame and quivering with desire as she is taken long and hard by two rugged highlanders at once. But can these hardened warriors keep her safe from the perils of a world far more dangerous than the one she left behind?

Publisher’s Note: Shared by the Highlanders is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes including threesomes, anal play.

And of course I have an excerpt to share.
One attacker is bad, but I might have a chance. Two is different story altogether. They have clearly mistaken me for a boy, probably due to my unisex weatherproofs and my hair being covered by my hood. I don’t disabuse them of that notion.
"What do you want? Please, let me go. I won't say anything about this, not to anyone." A ridiculous promise, but I'll try anything. I can hear the tremor in my voice so they must too. That irks me. I don't want them to know how scared I am.
"More to the point, laddie, what is it you want, sneaking around the moors in the mist? Were ye thinking to steal from us, maybe ye have an eye on our horses...?"
"Horses? Why would I want your horses? I'm a hiker not a bloody jockey."
I should learn to think before I speak, and a hard cuff around the side of my head shuts me up. My ears are ringing, though I don't think he hit me especially hard. The horror of being thumped is enough to quell my brief flirtation with defiance though. I don't need to see this man upright to be certain he'll dwarf my five foot four, and his companion is equally tall. I know better than to provoke them if they are handy with their fists.
The mountain on top of me eases himself to the side, then gets to his feet. He extends his hand down to me, and I take it without thinking. I'm hauled to my feet as though I'm weightless, to stand shivering in front of him. The other man is behind me, blocking any chance of escape, even if I could see more than a yard in any direction.
"Will ye be keeping' a civil tongue in your head then or do you need further convincing?"
"Let the lad be, Robbie. Can't ye see he's scared? If he was a thief I think we've maybe cured him of that notion. Am I right, boy?"
I nod, then shake my head, not sure what the right response would be. "I'm not a thief. I'm a hiker. I just want to be on my way, and, and..."
"A what?" This from the man in front of me. Robbie?
"A hiker. I'm doing a twenty miler. I'm expected in Glenridding tomorrow." I clamp my mouth shout, immediately realising my mistake. I should have told them I'd be missed later today, or better still that the search parties are already scouring the fells for me.  As it is, I've just informed them that no one will notice me missing for another day at least.
"You're doing what? Did you say you were from Glenridding? Is that near here?"
"Yes, about ten miles north. On the shores of Ullswater. The youth hostel is expecting me. If I don't turn up they'll report it and mountain rescue will be up here."
"What are you blathering on about, lad? Why would you not turn up? And what is this youth hostel? Is that some sort of local laird?"
"A... what? No." I peer at him, only now starting to take in his bizarre attire. He is wrapped in a combination of thick furs, and what looks to be tartan. His feet are booted like those of his companion, but his knees are bare. His hair is long, falling loose and tousled to his shoulders, and is a dark auburn colour. His head is uncovered, though he wears stout gloves. His face is handsome, in a harsh, untamed sort of way. Although he must have shaved in the last few days his beard is making its presence felt again. His mouth is full, strong, and I catch the flash of perfect teeth as he grins at my discomfiture. But his most prominent feature is his eyes. They are a brilliant green, reminding me of the rich, lush grass of the lower slopes. He regards me in silence, and appears to be in some doubt now as to what his next move might be. His decision is made for him by the other man.
"It's getting late. We can't continue on in this, and we're likely to lose the horses if we even try. We'll make camp and keep the lad secure till morning. Then we can decide what to do with him."
Robbie nods, the gesture curt. "Aye, good enough. Pass me your kerchief, Will."
By the scuffling and grunting at my rear it seems that the second man is struggling to comply. Robbie gives a low curse and grabs my arm. He tugs me toward the horses, then leans past me to retrieve something from one of the saddlebags. He turns me roughly, hurling me against the worn leather of the saddle. The scent of the horse fills my nostrils, but I hardly have a moment to register that before my hands are dragged behind my back. I try to escape, but he ties my wrists together. The bonds are tight, not painful, but I can't move.
Panic wells again. He's hit me, and now he's tied me up. This is not going to end well. My knees start to buckle
