Ashe Barker Interviews and Shares!

I have Ashe Barker taking over today. She brought along a special guest and a little excerpt from her new book!

Hi Casey, and thank you for inviting me over today to share a little from my latest release, A Scandalous Arrangement. It’s great to be back.

I thought it might be a nice opportunity to get to know Victoria Wynne a little better. Victoria is my heroine from the story, and I tracked her down in her office to I fire some finely honed questions at her. Here’s what she had to say…

Me: Thank you for chatting to me today, Miss Wynne. Tell me, what impression do you make on people when they first meet you?

Victoria: I believe I may be quite intimidating to business associates, and that is intentional. Many men fail to take a woman in business seriously. I set out to prove them wrong. With my family and close friends it’s different though. Or, I hope it is.

Me: What impression did you make on Adam?

Victoria: I suppose he must have liked me, and he was willing to enter into a business arrangement with me so that proves he respected me. I think.

Me: Your arrangement was anything but business-like though, was it not?

Victoria: As it turned out, yes. Though I do not regret anything I did. Nor does Adam, I’m sure.

Me: What are you most proud of in your life?

Victoria: My mill, I suppose. I worked hard to build the business, and even harder to keep it. I employ people, they depend on me and I work hard not to let them down.

Me: What about on a personal level?

Victoria: My family, without doubt. But also, my little school I suppose. It offers a chance to children from working class families, especially the girls. I offer them the chance of a good education, and decent employment.

Me: Is that important to you?

Victoria: Yes, very.

Me: What does Adam think of your philanthropic tendencies?

Victoria: I believe he approves. He is a stern man, but kind, and generous too. I would not love him otherwise.

Neither would we. Enough from Victoria, for now. Here’s the blurb from A Scandalous Arrangement.

After a foolish wager costs her brother ownership of the weaving mill in Yorkshire which provides her income, Victoria Wynne is left with no choice but to confront the man who took the bet and seek to dissuade him from claiming his prize. Unfortunately for her, that man turns out to be Adam Luke, an experienced, ambitious entrepreneur who is intent on keeping what he won.

Upon meeting her, Adam is enchanted by Victoria’s beauty and charm as well as her nerve and self-reliance. Adam is a man of singular tastes, and when Victoria asks to manage the mill in return for a share of the profits, he offers her a bold proposal of his own. She will continue to run the mill as she has for years, but in return for a substantially larger portion of the profits she will also serve at his beck and call behind closed doors, submitting to him in any way he desires.

Wanting to earn enough money to buy back the mill as quickly as possible—and with some part of her shamefully aroused by the thought of kneeling naked at Adam’s feet—Victoria accepts his terms. But submission initially proves difficult for a woman used to running her own affairs, and soon enough she finds herself bare-bottomed over his knee for a firm lesson in obedience.

Adam’s plans for Victoria run much deeper than just an occasional spanking. She will be stripped naked, bound, and teased until she is aching for release, and then at last he will take her long and hard. As Adam continues to train her, teaching her to yield to his mastery while bringing her more pleasure than she ever thought possible, Victoria cannot help falling for him. But can a lifelong bond truly emerge from such a scandalous arrangement?

Publisher’s Note: A Scandalous Arrangement is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

And now, an excerpt from A Scandalous Arrangement.

Dinner that evening was a pleasant enough affair, if he could manage to disregard the silence emanating from Victoria. She was not surly exactly, more preoccupied. He had given her plenty to consider, certainly, but he did not believe it was his unorthodox business proposition which occupied her thoughts. Or, perhaps not entirely.
Hester Wynne and her younger daughter, Georgina, did a fine job of filling any gaps in the conversation. He was entertained by tales of local life, the social events dominating the West Yorkshire summer season, the weather at this time of year, the difficulties inherent in securing beef of adequate quality. The latter was not a problem he felt their cook encountered on a regular basis if the fine braised steak he was enjoying was any indication. The food was exquisite, and the company effervescent.
As soon as dessert was over Victoria excused herself.
"But, my dear, we have a guest. Surely you can remain with us a little longer." Hester fixed her daughter with what seemed to Adam a particularly pointed look, but to no avail.
Victoria smiled at the assembled company as she folded her napkin. "I am tired, mama. I will see you at breakfast." She bent to kiss her mother's cheek, then Georgina's. She bestowed a cool smile on Adam as she left the room.
Hester shook her head. "She may be tired, but she'll still spend the next three hours in the library, poring over her accounts, checking invoices, studying her order books. She really does too much, Mr Luke. I worry about her."
Adam smiled and nodded. He could find nothing in Hester's statement with which to disagree.
Thirty minutes and a fine port later the remaining three left the table. Hester declared herself ready to retire to her room, and urged Georgina to do the same in readiness for some charitable function the following day. They both bid him goodnight.
Adam waited until their footsteps faded on the upper floor, then he made his way along the ground floor hallway. He could eliminate the parlour and the dining room, so located the library without difficulty. The door was ajar. As he had expected, Victoria was there, her back to the door as she bent over a large desk which was scattered with papers. The faint scratching of her pen across the surface of the document she worked on could be heard as he stood in silence for few moments, taking in the sight of her. She really was lovely. A trifle prim in her attitudes perhaps, and definitely sharp-tongued. Independent too, but he admired that and could deal with the rest.

More about me:

I’ve been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres. I still love reading, the hotter the better. But now I have a good excuse for my guilty pleasure – research.
I tend to draw on my own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to my plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea.
When not writing – which is not very often these days - my time is divided between my role as resident taxi driver for my teenage daughter, and caring for a menagerie of dogs, rabbits, tortoises.  And a very grumpy cockatiel.
I have twenty four (at the last count) titles on general release with publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, and I have several more in the pipeline. All my books feature BDSM. I write explicit stories, always hot, but they offer far more than just sizzling sex. I like to read about complex characters, and compelling plots, so that’s what I write too. Strong, demanding Doms are a given, often paired with new submissives who have a lot to learn.
I have a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keep thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from me.
I love to hear from readers. You can find me on my blog, and on the Totally Bound site. I’m on Facebook, and twitter and now on Tsu as well. I’m on Pinterest too, and Goodreads
