"Did That Sting Your Pretty Little Ass?"~ Extended Preview

I'm easing off the marathon of posting every single day and gave myself a day off yesterday. But today I am back and very excited to share an excerpt from a brand new author with a brand new book! Alexis Alvarez is here sharing an extended excerpt from her new book Return. I thought about cutting it down, but the whole thing is yum-worthy, so here you go!

Finally the door opened and there he was, standing in front of her, as gorgeous as ever. When he saw her, he smiled.
“I like you here in my bedroom,” Damián told her in a low voice, his eyes glittering in the lamp light. “Even though, once again, you didn’t follow directions.” He wrinkled his brow. “You showered?” He glanced toward the bathroom door. A moist humidity wafted out, carrying the smell of masculine shower gel and shampoo.
“You might not have enjoyed the ten pounds of dirty sweat I had on, Sherlock,” said Ava, standing up and stretching her arms high, allowing the robe to skim the top of her thighs. She let the backs of her wrists touch and posed her fingers before drifting her arms downward.
Damián sucked in his breath, smiled and shook his head. “Dirty is fine, Ava—I just want you here, ready to fuck. But since you showered, I’ll match. Give me five minutes.” He strode past her, taking off his shirt. Ava peeked up through her lashes and sucked in her breath at his muscled chest. He looked back at her. “Ava?”
“Yes?”
“I distinctly told you to be kneeling. It’s almost like you’re asking for punishment.” His voice rolled over her like a caress, and he gestured to his belt. “I’m more than happy to oblige.”
Ava flushed, didn’t answer.
“When I finish my shower? The first thing I want to see is you, on your knees. Or I’ll double what I had planned.”
He winked, disappeared, and the sound of rushing rain roared from the showerhead. Ava ditched the robe and picked up a random book from his nightstand.
The shower seemed to go on for hours and then he came out on a drift of citrus sandalwood steam, unzipped jeans showing his abs and chest, rubbing his hair with a towel.
Ava was ready to play.
He tossed the towel to the bed and stopped short when he saw her in the chair. Ava sat with her legs crossed, lips red and pouting, finger tracing a line down the page of her book.
A muscle in his jaw clenched and he crossed his arms, and a dangerous smile played on his lips. “I see that you are completely unable to obey my instructions, querida,” he told her.
Ava slid one leg down inch by inch, until both thighs were together, her toes pointed, touching the floor. She set aside her book, arched her back, and put her hands into her hair to shake out her curls. While she re-crossed her legs, she ran her hands down the sides of her chest, fingers lingering on her breasts, and shot him a smile. She licked her top lip, making the wet crimson lipstick gleam in the low light.
“Your instructions…” she paused, rubbing circles over her nipples, skimming them with her fingertips, “were so dirty. You’ll have to work harder to convince me to wait in such a naughty pose.” She glanced at him, giving a slight moan as she ran her hands up and down her chest, then lowered them, teasing, toward the V of her thighs. She let her fingers dip between her legs.
Damián’s entire body was taut, his eyes locked onto her. Ava saw that he was hard through his jeans. She was on stage, performing for a private audience of one, and she loved the thrill of power.
She made a breathy sound and worked her fingers over her slick skin. “You took so long in the shower, Damián, that I had to amuse myself. And I’m very good at… amusing.” She wiggled to allow her hands better access, and pushed one finger inside her body. “I had to get myself wet. Now that makes me very disappointed.” She rubbed herself with growing enthusiasm. “Mmm… so nice and tight. Soaked, really. Sorry you had to miss it.”
Damián sucked in a breath, took a step forward, and arrested himself.
Ava continued in a haughty voice, “Since I was alone for so long, I had to move on to other activities. I’m very involved in this book. So perhaps you’ll just have to go amuse yourself.” She lifted one hand from her lap to her lips. While his dark eyes burned at her, she slowly opened her mouth, inserted her index finger, and sucked it. “And I taste divine,” she told him. “Why don’t you think about that while I reread my favorite chapter from,” she took a quick look at the book on the nightstand, “101 Strategies for Sole-Proprietorship Start-Ups.
He made a growling noise in his throat and his whole body seemed to vibrate with pent-up energy. His eyes burned with an intensity that was almost feral, and she couldn’t stop a small, satisfied smile from stealing over her lips.
Ava picked up the book and opened to a random page, pretending to read. Her heart was beating so ferociously that she could hear her pulse in her ears. The words were tiny hieroglyphs dancing around, drunken ants swirling on the white page.
Her whole body wanted to lean toward him; she felt a craving in her core, a crazed fascination that was increasing moment by moment as he stood there, tall, muscular, all dark planes and eyes, so very sexy. His dark gaze sent her stomach fluttering like papers in the wind. She kept her eyes on the illegible symbols, and in a flash, success. He was at her side with a few strong strides. Ava could smell his masculine heat as he stood, legs wide, arms again crossed, beside her.
His voice was low and stern. “Tell me, Ava, what exactly does it mean to you to be submissive?”
Ava just shook her head and nodded at her book, keeping her eyes trained on the page. “Busy, Damián,” she said in a distracted voice, giving him a little dismissive wave with the fingers of her right hand.
Damián trailed one index finger up her shoulder and neck, the lightest touch, and Ava shuddered with desire as he removed the book from her hands and tossed it to the corner, where it landed with an unceremonious thunk.
“Not a reader, then?” she teased him, glancing up. “Any good librarian would be very mad at you for such blatant literary disrespect.”
“Look at me, Ava,” he said, brushing his index finger under her chin, the barest graze. His eyes were liquid heat.
Ava looked up at him, standing strong over her, and it occurred to her that she should possibly be frightened—after all, she was here, alone, in the bedroom of a man who wanted her at his mercy. But all she could feel was a burning passion to be skin-to-skin with him, body against body; any fears fled when he smiled.
“You seem to have such trouble obeying, my little naughty librarian,” Damián said conversationally, running his finger over her lower lip. He leaned in, lips so close she could feel his breath. “And I think I already made it clear that disobedience will require correction. Hmm?” His low voice was harsh and sexy. “I’m going to punish you extra now. Te voy a castigar.” Ava sucked in her breath hard, and Damián chuckled. “Te acuerdas? You remember?”
His confident voice in Spanish made her swoon, and she was ready to do whatever he asked, no matter what it was. Her lips parted and her eyes widened as she breathed in, watching him, waiting for his command.
Ava made a small moaning noise, and Damián ran both hands lightly down her shoulders, rubbing.
“But on the other hand, such a sexy surprise, finding you sitting here like this—maybe that should be rewarded.”
Ava nodded. “Now that idea I like, Damián.” Her voice came out low and hoarse. Every fiber of her body was thrumming with desire for his lips, his arms, his burning gaze. She could feel her breath coming faster, the excitement building.
“Both, then,” he said decisively. “Punishment, then pleasure.”
Damián ran his fingers over her lips, and Ava’s eyes widened at his touch and at the dual promise; the suggestion alone was enough to make her wet.
She sucked his finger, making eye contact, running her tongue up and down his thumb. “Do you like that?” she asked him with a wide-eyed, faux-innocent gaze. “Does it feel… good?” She wanted to get him to her level of heat.
“Ava, fuck.”
“Oh, I see. You do want to fuck? So the shower was your idea of foreplay? Poor baby. I think you need lessons. You seem to have lost your touch. Usually? When you engage in foreplay? You have to actually be in the room with the person you plan to fuck. Just for future reference. And you can look that up in the card catalogue if you forget.”
Damián moved fast, and Ava found herself pulled to her feet, up against his hard, lean body. “Oh, you’re giving lessons, now?” he whispered into her ear, biting at the lobe.
“Eep! Yes, since you need pointers, I’m going to have to—Ow!” Ava stiffened as Damián slapped her once on the ass. “That hurt.”
“Oh, did it?” Damián murmured in an interested voice against her neck. “Did that sting your pretty little ass?”
“You know it did,” Ava said in a mock-accusing voice, rubbing.
Damián grabbed her hand. “Did I tell you to reach back?”
“Are you really going to give me double the spanking?” Ava asked, suddenly nervous.
“Of course I am.” Damián rubbed her ass cheek where he’d slapped it. “In a little bit.” Now he leaned in and kissed her neck, bit it, and trailed his fingers over her breast. “It’s going to be hard and you’re going to take it all, unless I hear the word Red, yes?”
“Red again?” Ava queried. “What if I prefer another word?”
“Do you want a different word? Library, maybe? Bookmark? Ava’s going to get whipped with a nice riding crop?” He nipped some light kisses down the side of her neck, stopping at her shoulder and looking at her, dark eyes burning.
Ava smiled. “Not right now. Red is fine. But if I want a new one, I’ll choose.”
“You can pick any word you want, Ava.” His voice was low. “Is there anything else here you want to pick tonight? Green. Remember green? It means you like what we’re doing and you want more.”
Ava put her hands against his bare chest. His heart was pounding. She leaned in and kissed the side of his neck, then his ear. “Green,” she whispered.

Ava Grimaldi models the hero of her kinky erotic novel on her crush, sexy gym owner and artist Damián Perez, without asking his permission. When Damián finds out, he’s furious, and Ava is worried he will sue her. Damián demands a different payment entirely, though, and soon the two are involved in an intense BDSM relationship of their own.

With each sexual encounter growing more passionate and personal, Ava falls hard for Damián, but is hurt when he continually insists they their relationship is only physical and temporary. He refuses to acknowledge their relationship in public, even though he spends time with his bitchy ex. Eventually Ava has enough of being second best and won’t settle for less than she deserves. Can they work through their misunderstandings and hurt to start again, this time with a basis of trust and love?

A to Z Challenge~ Savannah's Surrender

Welcome back to the Spanking from A-Z blog challenge, hosted by Celeste Jones and Spanking Romance Reviews.

I made it up to S! I am pretty proud of myself. Today I have an excerpt for you from Lillyanna Rose's debut novel, Savannah's Surrender.

Savannah has just met with her husband Hilton and they made the big decision to enter in to a domestic discipline relationship. Now Savannah's wondering if this can really work.

Savannah

I sat alone at the table shocked at the way our meeting had transpired. Hilton was so “matter of fact” and confident. I was shocked by the sense of power that he emitted and how naturally his tone made me know better than to question him. I suddenly felt like I was already stuck under his dictatorship and I felt uneasy about it. I had to admit that Hilton’s bossiness was sexy though. When he spoke about spanking my bottom tingled. The whole encounter left me wanting and wet. In the past I would have been seething with anger if he had tried to boss me around like that.
I opened the note he had left in my hand. It read,

Dear Savannah,

I will be home Saturday morning. Saturday evening after the kids are asleep we will conduct an initiation to Domestic Discipline session. You will receive a considerably hard spanking. You are to do exactly as you are told without hesitation. Should you choose to disobey me the consequences will become more severe. At the conclusion of the punishment all past wrongs will be forgotten. They will be left in the past never to be spoken of again. Bringing up old baggage from the past after the initiation will be a spankable offense. We need to move forward. Our new life together will begin when the comforting after the spanking begins. I love you Savannah. I can’t wait to be home.

Until then,
Hilton

For a moment I sat there speechless. I couldn’t believe what I had just read. I felt that “old Savannah” attitude creeping in. I thought to myself, he left me. Now he is going to tell me when he is going to come home without even asking me first. How dare he. I wasn’t ready for him to come yet. I stopped myself. I couldn’t think this way anymore. I had signed the Domestic Discipline contract and consented to Hilton leading me. I had to accept it. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. I could already tell.

Savannah's Surrender is based on a true story. It tells a tale of a married couple, Hilton and Savannah Fields, who are enduring some marital discord.

Hilton walked out on Savannah over six months ago. After numerous attempts to resolve their issues on their own with little progress Hilton decided it was time to call it quits. He was convinced that Savannah was just too stubborn and she was never going to be willing to compromise on anything. It wasn’t what he wanted but he had tried everything to fix things, finally reaching his breaking point he told Savannah he was filing for a divorce.

Savannah was devastated. She wanted her husband back but she wasn't going to let him tell her how or what to do. She talks Hilton into trying Christian marriage counseling as a final attempt to save their crumbling marriage. Savannah’s confident that the pastor will show Hilton the error of his ways.

Hilton and Savannah are both shocked when Pastor James suggests that they adopt a Domestic Discipline lifestyle. He instructs Hilton to become the head of his household and recommends that he starts spanking Savannah’s bottom if she disobeys him or becomes disrespectful. Pastor James ensures the couple that Hilton taking charge of their marriage will quickly put an end to their discord.

Will Hilton spank Savannah? Can Domestic Discipline save their failing marriage?

A to Z Challenge~ Jumping In!

Welcome back to the A to Z Challenge hosted by Celeste Jones and Spanking Romance Reviews.

Today J is for Jumping In! Or Jane for Laurel Jane!

I know Laurel as a facebook friend. She always has kind words to say about new releases, and she is a known fan of spanking romance. She is sweet and funny and I have never known her to be anything but nice! So I was thrilled for her when she announced she would be releasing her first book that she co-authored with Maggie Ryan.

J is definitely for Jumping In! Welcome to the author world Laurel. I wish her and Maggie much success! Here is an excerpt and some info about their new book, Realizing Her Dream.

"I'm very pleased to see you are still here," he said.
Casey attempted to think of something witty to say, but every word stuck in her throat. The only thing she could do was nod.
"Ready?"
She thought about quipping that she had been born ready but for some reason, the man towering over her looked quite capable of making her prove it. "Um, to go celebrate? Is that what you mean?"

"Believe me, Casey, you'll always understand exactly what I mean." He paused to hold out his hand and she took it automatically. "We'll have some dinner, and then for dessert—well, at least for my dessert anyway—I will give you the spanking you've been promised. This is your last chance to back out. If you agree, and by that I mean agree to both dinner and having your bottom blistered, I'll pick you up tonight. Now tell me, are you ready?"

When Casey Reeves loses her husband to an unexpected heart attack, she gives herself a new mantra: To live life as if it were an amazing adventure, as every single day matters.
Unfortunately, one of the things on her bucket list looks far better on paper, and when Casey finds herself up in a plane, strapped to a tall, handsome man, about to undertake her very first parachute jump, she realizes that she'd do just about anything to be able to back out.

Paul Jackson has been a parachute instructor ever since he retired early, and has seen his fair share of terrified women, but when Casey hysterically promises to do anything he asks in return for being able to return to solid ground safely—even let him spank her—he's amused, and not a little intrigued. He's also more than willing to accept her bargain.

Casey finds herself taking a leap of faith—in more ways than one. The two begin their journey together, spending some time on a luxurious yacht, in a tropical rainforest and even in a ranch in outback Australia, as they work their way through her list.

What they discover is that life has a tendency not to follow carefully designed plans. With Paul beside her, Casey quickly learns that living every day to its fullest entails far more than she’d ever imagined. And by her side throughout the action, danger and laughter is a man who not only has no hesitation in reddening her bottom when she deserves it, but can send her soaring into ecstasy with a single look or a touch of his hand.

Finding a new love to equal—or even exceed—her old one was not even on Casey's bucket list but now that she has, can they make it work? Is Paul really the man of her dreams?

Best-selling author Maggie Ryan and newcomer Laurel Jane have put their heads and their pens together to come up with this, an exciting tale of romance, lust, love, spanking and adventure. If the subject of domestic discipline or explicit erotica offends you, please do not read this book.

Coming June 5th to Blushing Books, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Come Meet New Author Danielle Logan!

There is a new author on the spanking fiction scene and I invited her over so you could say hi! Her name is Danielle Logan and she's just put out her first book Taming the Preacher's Daughter. She's sharing an excerpt with us!

A tear streamed down his cheek, he turned back to the window, hoping Savi didn’t see it. “I’m sorry Savi, I don’t think this can work. I don’t think we can be together. We want two very different things. I can’t stand to hurt you, not again. I just love you too much.” He hung his head in shame.

“Oh, Eric. That's definitely not what I want. I want to fix this problem. You aren’t the reason I drank. I drank because I wanted to have fun. I did want to forget about the spanking, but not because I was mad at you. I was confused; I am still confused. I shouldn’t have told you that I was ready; I don’t think that I was, but I was so afraid of losing you. But I’m ready now. I want you, I love you, Eric. I can do this now. Together we can make this work, I know we can.”

Eric could feel Savi’s presence behind him. She grabbed his shoulder to turn him around; locking eyes with him she whispered, “I love you, Eric. I am so sorry for the pain I have caused you.” Savi then leaned in and pressed her lips to his.

He grabbed her neck and pulled her in closer, she was sweet like honey. He could feel the passion behind her lips, and with a smile, he pulled away and rested his forehead on hers.  He was breathless and full of regret when he spoke. “Savannah, we can’t be doing this.”

Savi grabbed his hand and pulled him to the couch. “I know, but there is something we can do. Well, rather, you can do.” She looked at him, gazing into his eyes meaningfully.

He could tell she was trying to tell him something, and he knew he should be getting it, but he just wasn’t. He looked at her blankly. “And what’s that?”

Savi wanted to be everything she wasn’t. Tired of being the perfect preacher's daughter, she wants to step out of her father’s shadow.
Deciding to go against everything she has been taught and wanting her first summer back from college to be a wild one, she begins to party and she sets her sights on the local lifeguard Eric.
Eric has always had a place in Savi’s heart, secretly she has always wanted to be with him.
After finding out that Eric attends her father’s church and realizing what her father’s church really practices, Savi goes on a downward spiral. Can love conquer her fears?

Meet Danielle Logan!
I always dreamt of being an author of fiction books. To me the subject really didn't matter, I just wanted to use my imagination. As a teen I would write and then throw it away, not thinking I would ever be good enough. A while ago, I began reading spanking stories, and they stirred something in me, caused me to dream about writing something similar. I began to write spanking fiction, and shared it with my friend/author. She told me it was a story that needed to be written, one that others would enjoy, and that is how I got here.
I am married to my wonderful husband, we have four beautiful children and a pit-bull named Lola.  I am native to the Pacific Northwest, if you don't like the weather wait five minutes, it will change.  I am currently working on my masters in teaching with an emphasis on history and literature, a passion I'm sure you will see in a future book.

A Belt Wielding Alpha~ A Brush of Violet, by Corinne Alexander

It is an honor to have my friend, Corinne Alexander, over on my blog today. She has her debut spanking romance out- the newest from the Corbin's Bend Series- called A Brush of Violet.
She was kind enough to bring over an excerpt, so I won't take up anymore time, I will just let the writing speak for itself!

He led her over to the clubhouse to the room he had mentioned the day before, the one that needed a special key to enter.
He led her into the dimly lit room. The first thing she noticed was that the soundproof padding she was expecting to see on the walls was completely concealed behind tasteful paneling. The room was warm and inviting, yet there was a distinct air of being strictly serviceable too. Along one side of the room sat several chairs that looked like might be for observers as there were about four in a row. There was also a straight back chair with no arms toward the center of the room and an arm chair toward the wall. A couch sat against a far wall.
However, what caught her attention was an apparatus in the right hand corner of the room. It was a bench of sorts. The end facing toward the room was just slightly lower than waist high. There was a padded bench that laid flat and then angled down toward the floor. There were cuffs around the legs of the front part of the bench and at the end of the bench along a bar.
Charles made his way toward a closet on the end of the room that the bench was on. The sight that beheld her as he opened the closet door made her gasp. There hanging on the wall behind the door was an array of every implement that she could imagine awaiting a naughty bottom to be applied to. There were floggers, belts, straps, paddles, and canes. They were in every shape, size, and type of spanking implement that there was. Violet shuddered in anticipation as she fingered a long supple strap made of leather. There was something about leather that made her knees go weak, but it was the jingle of the belt as it was unbuckled, the whir of air as it slid through its loops, and the crack of the leather against bare flesh that always got her. There was something deliciously alpha about a man who wielded a belt.

High powered business woman, Violet Walker, has long left her artistic days behind. That is until her best friend, Everleigh Harris, invites her to Corbin's Bend for an art festival. What Everleigh doesn't know is that Violet hasn't been able to paint a single brush stroke since turning her back on her submissive desires and spanking needs in college. When she meets charismatic and drop dead gorgeous Charles her world is turned completely upside down. Will Violet, overworked, burnt out, and in denial of her deepest wants and desires, be able to surrender when love knocks on her door?
Charles Robinson, President of the discipline Board in Corbin’s Bend and longtime resident, adores the community he lives in and the freedom it provides for all who live there. Raised in a traditional family; love and discipline are a way of life for him. There’s nothing he wants more than a marriage just like his parents where spanking and romance go hand in hand, even if that means holding out for true love. Is Violet just the kind of woman he’s looking for?
Will Violet risk the life she’s built for herself in blood, sweat, and tears for the undeniable connection she has with Charles, the utter bliss and contentment she feels when she’s over his lap? Can Charles convince Violet she really can have it all? Will this trip be just what she needs to rekindle all that she has lost since joining the corporate world?

Etta Stark- New Author on the Spanking Scene

Today, I have a guest! I invited Etta Stark over to share a little piece of her first book His Lordship's Apprentice. I started reading this Victorian era spanking romance over the weekend, and then I decided I need to stalk her (what? you guys don't do that?).

I found her blog and was cracking up at some of her posts. I got in touch with her and invited her over, I do appreciate a sense of humor. Also, her book had me captivated from the very beginning. I love that it's not only set in the Victorian Era, but the Lord in her book is a magician, a peer to Harry Houdini. An interesting backdrop to a sweet romance. If you haven't had the chance to read it yet, I would highly recommend it.

I'll turn it over to Etta now!

Hello! Casey has invited me to pop over here and plug my book, His Lordship’s Apprentice, so here I am. I am still crazy new to this whole writing business. His Lordship’s Apprentice is my first book and was published just over a month ago. I haven’t been invited onto anyone else’s blog before so I shall just be on my best behaviour. Right, be polite, compliment the hostess, don’t spill anything on the carpet, and don’t nick the silverware.

His Lordship’s Apprentice is set in the late Victorian period (1899 was the date I had in mind although I don’t think that it’s explicitly stated anywhere). Its two main protagonists are Lord Hardcastle, a successful stage magician who performs under the name of The Marvellous Marvelo and Violet Plover, a scullery maid who becomes promoted to Lord Hardcastle’s onstage assistant when she shows an aptitude for both showmanship and hiding in teeny, tiny spaces.

One of the reasons for using showbusiness as a backdrop to the story was it made the idea of love between two people with such wildly different backgrounds as Lord Hardcastle’s and Violet’s not entirely unbelievable. The Victorians didn’t usually pay a great deal of attention to their servants but I liked the idea that Lord Hardcastle’s respect for her onstage talent would far outweigh any concerns about her social class.

It was fun to have her start off as a servant then progress to magical assistant as well as developing the personal relationship between the two characters. Having a Master/servant relationship at the beginning of the book meant that the first couple of times Lord Hardcastle spanks Violet, it is in a purely disciplinary context. He is correcting untoward behaviour on her part and she has no choice but to submit to him. (Although I think they both enjoyed it even then!) As the story progresses the spankings become more obviously linked to love and sex.

I have included a few different excerpts from His Lordship’s Apprentice on my blog so have decided to use a different one here. This is a new and exclusive excerpt – not available anywhere else! Well it’s available in the book itself, of course. Along with even more words. Seriously, there are thousands of the things. You should totally go check it out.

The excerpt comes from a much longer conversation between Violet and Lord Hardcastle following their Engagement Ball. It’s all been a bit emotional for Violet one way and another, but the couple are getting to know one another better here. Lord Hardcastle has been answering Violet’s questions about his sex life and now she’s moved on to spankings.

I really enjoyed writing this whole scene. Sometimes when I’m writing dialogue scenes the whole writing process suddenly becomes very easy as though the characters are just chatting amongst themselves without any interference from me at all. (Other times it’s more like how writer, Charlie Brooker, described the process: “like slowly dragging individual letters of the alphabet from a mire of cold glue.”)
I hope you enjoy the below snippet. It doesn’t contain any actual spankings but they do talk about it.

"Have you spanked any of the women you have been intimate with?"
Lord Hardcastle paused for a fraction of a second. "No," he responded. "I haven't."
"What about the servants? Have you punished any of them the way you did me when I let the dove escape?"
"No. That was a first."
"But you had a cane in your study?"
"My father's. The previous Lord Hardcastle was a great believer in corporal punishment. I believe Mrs. Davenport was disciplined a fair bit by him when she was younger."
"Mrs. Davenport? Really?" Violet couldn't help a giggle at the thought of stern Mrs. Davenport at the receiving end of a spanking by Lord Hardcastle's father.
Lord Hardcastle continued, "I think he always assumed that I would follow suit so the cane remained in my study. I never felt any desire to use it until I met you."
"You saw me and you knew that you wanted to hurt me?"
"Oh, that's unfair. I knew that I wanted to correct you. And you must admit your behaviour certainly warranted correction."
"You knew what you were doing, though. That wasn't the first time you'd wielded a cane."
"Violet, I went to one of the most expensive public schools in the country. If it taught me nothing else – and it probably didn't – it taught me how to receive and administer a beating."
"You were beaten at school?"
"Not much. I was an exemplary student – so much so that I became a prefect and then Head Boy. Believe me; I have caned a fair number of recalcitrant students in my time."
"Did you enjoy it?"
"No. The idea that it might be enjoyable is something that has only occurred to me recently." He fixed his eyes on Violet. She could see fire burning behind those smoky grey eyes. "Do you enjoy it?" he asked
Violet felt herself turn bright red and her heart began to hammer so loudly beneath her ribcage, she felt certain Lord Hardcastle must be able to hear it. "I... I don't know," she answered. "It hurts like hell. But I don't want you not to do it. I like knowing that you might."
"Very well. That will suit me fine. Now, young lady, it's time you were in bed. Your own bed unfortunately, not mine. Thankfully, that will no longer be the case a week from now."

I feel I should enter a side not here that my husband has been awesome through this whole process, there's been a lot of “talking me down from the ledge” lately. I am sure this will get old very soon, so I've been trying to keep it together.

I've also been working on a work in progress I've been trying to start for a while, my husband keeps calling it “Downton Abbey Porn”. I love historical romances, I love to read them, so why not write them? But it seems the past two weeks every time I sit down to write the self-doubt monster rears it's ugly head and all my creativity is zapped.

But then I got a review on Goodreads!! And it's good! They like my story! But I have typos... embarrassing. I did edit the book myself, but I guess when you've read something over and over you just don't pick up on things, because I know what it's SUPPOSED to say. I also totally understand how annoying this is from the reader's perspective. I read a lot and I've read e-books that have been self published that were riddled with errors, it rips you out of the story, they're distracting. I am simultaneously embarrassed and excited. Embarrassed that I have mistakes, so excited that someone liked my book.

I will be re-editing and I guess taking down and then putting back up the book (that's really on my husband, who is not thrilled, but I guess that will make me edit more carefully next time).

On a brighter note I got a lot of progress done on my work in progress this morning. So maybe my little freak out is over, although I am sure it won't be the last.

First Blog Post

I have a blog! I feel like I will be sending this post out into nowhere because I don't really have any fans yet. Hopefully that will be a short term problem, if you found your way here, welcome! Tell your friends.

I am hoping this will be a place that you can check into regularly. I plan to be checking in often to post about stuff I'm writing, stuff I'm reading, and probably sharing amusing things from my life. For now maybe you'll want to check out my first book! (Yes, I published my book before starting my blog. Maybe its a little backwards, but it's all coming together!)

Catch a Falling Star is a romantic comedy about a girl named Mac, she's just gotten fired from her job as a television sitcom writer, and she runs into Luke, a well known Hollywood star. She reluctantly falls for him even though she feels like her life is spinning out of control. Luke tries to give her the control she needs, he also doesn't think twice about spanking her to gain that control.
It's a fun, sexy, steamy read. On sale for Kindle and Nook. I hope you enjoy it!
