Welcome back to Six of the Best! I have a few paragraphs from my new book Cherished which is on sale now!
At this point in the story Ethan has walked Serena home from a restaurant where they had met some friends. It wasn't officially a "date" but she invited him up to her apartment. He's just given her an amazing orgasm and she was about to return the favor, but he stops her:
She gasped as he pulled out of her panties, his hand brushing against her sensitive nub. Trying to push up on her arms, she reached forward, toward his fly, intending to return the favor. He caught her wrist. “Relax,” he said. With an arm slipped behind her, he pulled her to lay beside him on the couch. He turned her so her back rested against his front.
She’d not thought it possible they could fit side by side on her couch, but here she was with Ethan spooning her from behind. “Want to watch some TV?” he asked as he reached for her remote.
“Um.” Her mind whirled. He’d just brought her to glorious orgasm and he didn’t want reciprocation? “Sure,” she said, settling in next to him. Her nipples were cold and she looked down at the wet spots on the front of her shirt where he had had his mouth.
The chill only lasted a moment, because once Ethan found an old comedy movie playing, he dropped the remote and circled his arms around her. She rested her head against the couch, tucked up under his chin.
She didn’t wake up until he was settling her into her own bed. She tried to talk to him, ask him to stay, thank him for the great night, but her mind was thick with sleep. She was back against her pillows before she got anything out. The last feeling that washed over her caught her off guard. Happiness. When was the last time she was so content?
Serena's landed herself the perfect man. He's wealthy, powerful, and an unrelenting Dom. Everything a smart girl with a penchant for kink could want. But a year into their relationship and she's doubting what they really have together. When she confronts him, she's devastated to discover she had the wrong idea from the beginning.
Ethan is back in town to help out his friend manage his BDSM club. The short respite from his life across the country is just the break he needed. But when his troubles end up following him, things become even more complicated than before.
When Serena and Ethan meet, it isn't perfect timing. Serena finds it hard to trust again, but then Ethan shows her what it's like to be cherished. Can they let go of their baggage long enough to find real happiness? Or will their complicated past relationships catch up with them?
