"I'm Not Arguing"~ The Quickest Way to End a Fight

I don't know about your house, but the holiday preparations have really ramped up around here. And with that I start to go a little crazy. Minor details can throw me over the edge and then next thing you know I am yelling at the cat for knocking the boxes of Christmas lights onto the floor.

Mr. McKay is a good guy. He is really not into Christmas or decorations, but when he saw me losing my shit he asked if he could help. I declined. He asked if I wanted him to make me something to eat (when all else fails feed the beast). I declined. When a few other suggestions were also shot down he did what any smart man would do, he backed away slowly without making sudden movements.

Sometimes, I wish spankings could play into a real life thing for us. I said sometimes. I was thinking about this last night. Would I have responded well if he had decided that the quickest way to get me to calm down would have been to spank me? Maybe not at first- especially if it wasn't my idea.

So maybe if we had discussed it beforehand?

I think I am a little nervous to bring it up- I mean I brought up the whole spanking thing- and he did it. I suggested we try out other implements and he did it. I told him maybe he wasn't spanking hard enough and he could go a little longer... and he listened!

There's no going back on that now, so I think I really need to pick and choose what I ask for. Would I be insane to ask him to spank me when I am getting too stressed out??

These are the things I am wondering on.

Anyway, maybe slightly adding to my crazy week- I had two releases this week, that's right, two!!

I have a similar scene to the one I described above from my book The Doctor's Wife which is now available as a standalone on Amazon. If you bought the box set What the Doctor Ordered, then you already own this book! So what are you waiting for? Go read it!

So here it is. Christina is stressed out and pissed off and now her date night with Dan is quickly devolving into an argument.

"Whatever, Dan." She stomped out the room, collecting the pot from the coffee table. She stomped past him banging it down into the sink. She started furiously scrubbing dishes and slamming them into the dish drainer.

Dan reached around her, turning the tap off. "Stop."

She elbowed him, attempting to push him back a step, but he remained pressed up against her. "You stop," she said back, sounding like a petulant child even to her own ears.

She reached to turn the water back on but he grabbed her hand. Pulling her back from the sink and spinning her away, he gave her a hard smack on her ass and pushed her toward the door. "Go get ready for bed," he ordered. "I'm not arguing with you tonight."

She turned to face him, ready to put up a fight. He met her gaze, hands on his hips, annoyance in his eyes. Hurt and anger banged around in her chest, this is not how she wanted to spend her night.

He held her gaze for a moment and seemed to be thinking something over. It looked like something changed in his eyes, some undefined emotion flitted across his face and when he focused on her again he looked different- more determined. "I want you to go into the den, take off your clothes, and wait for me." He pointed toward the den, as if she were confused where he meant.

She shook her head no, and he raised his brows in warning.

"That wasn't a question," he said.

She blinked back at him, unable to catch up with the shift in his mood. He'd gone all dominant on her and suddenly the snit she had herself in disappeared. She could go upstairs and go to bed, or sulk in the living room in front of the television. But a flare of excitement shot through her at his instructions. Their night had been deteriorating before it even started, but Dan just took control of it and now all she had to do was obey. She turned and walked to the den, leaving him in the kitchen. She flicked on the light as the house was shrouded in darkness since the sun went down.

Standing in the middle of the room, she was unable to heed the rest of his instructions. The air felt cool and she suddenly felt very small in the overly masculine room.

Christina knew when she married Dr. Dan Connolly that it would be the best decision of her life, but as the years have passed and work and everyday concerns have piled up, their passion has begun to cool. Dan is supportive and understanding, but when Christina becomes so busy and stressed that she stops eating properly, he realizes he must step in to ensure that his wife starts taking care of herself again.

Dan makes it clear that things need to change, and Christina soon learns that defying the man who is both her doctor and her head of household will earn her a trip over his knee for a bare-bottom spanking. When Christina makes matters worse by lying to him, Dan decides to give her the type of thorough, embarrassing medical attention which will teach her a lesson she won’t soon forget. But will Christina continue to resist her husband’s dominance, or will she learn to embrace the submission she can’t help craving?

Publisher’s Note: The Doctor’s Wife is an erotic novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, medical play, anal play, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

  1. I wish things happened in my house as in the book, but hubby does the same thing yours does -retreat until the coast is clear. Sometimes, it's good and like you sometimes I wish it were the other way around.

  2. The words I hate are, "Slow down." If I'm rushing, it's for a reason. Get out of my way! LOL.

    Cute cover, Casey!
